In Austin

I’m in Austin this week checking out a technology conference about sound and video. It’s also the week of the Austin City Limits festival, so I’m gonna hear some great music too. I get to check all the major acts out when they come through New York, so I’ve decided not to go to the festival itself, but try to see a lot of local acts. I’ve been to Austin a few times before, and the local scene is amazing.

Lonely Planet Roadtrip Nation Event

Dave and I got to the Galapagos Art Space early to soundcheck. Before the show we hung out with the “original roadtrippers” Brian and Mike, as well as Chrystal, Kassie, and Jenni—in one of the giant green RVs—a great way to get in the vibe of what Roadtrip Nation is all about. We did a set of tunes featuring material from The Last Leaves that was used in the show, and threw in some newer tunes.

New Stuff

As you can hear, I’m working on some new music. A lot of new music in fact. It’s mostly lush, piano and electric guitar-driven rock. As you can see, there’s a new site up–quirks will get worked out over the next few weeks.
