Tg on the West Side

I’m in Oakland, California right now working on a new tune. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I actually spent the hour that most people are gathered around a turkey, drinking a beer and eating fries at the TGI Fridays in the Newark airport. It was mostly of my own doing, since it was the only day that usairways would let me fly to redeem a frequent flyer reward flight I’ve been trying to find a convenient time to use for the last 3 years. Anyways, I got in to my brothers place in Oakland on Thanksgiving night and had delicious left overs.

I’m camped out here till this Thursday with my Macbook Pro and Mbox2 working on a new single called Every Single Day. I layed down some guitar tracks, scratch piano, and other basics before I left so that I could work on other sounds and parts while I’m here. It’s amazing how mobile music production has gotten over the last few years, and insanely fun. I like the process of working on singles, one song at a time. I still have an overall sound that I’d like the current crop of songs to share, but it’s good to just focus singularly on getting one song right at a time.

Speaking of one song at a time… I’d like to thank everyone for expressing how much they dig Change Before Your Eyes. It’s really nice to know that something so personal to me is reaching out and touching other people in some sort of meaningful way. A couple major record labels are showing some interest in what I’m doing now too, so hopefully soon I’ll be able to make a lot more music. I’ve got so many songs I’d like to get out to everyone and could seriously use the help of the big boys. But I’m workin with what I’ve got, and no matter what happens I’ll always find a way to make music.
