U2 Madison Square Garden

Time is flying. I saw U2 on the 22nd, a couple days before thanksgiving. I’ve been to a thousand small venue shows over the years (literally), but only a handful of stadium shows. It’s a completely different asthetic, and pretty amazing.

The mass of cheering people pretty much serve as another instrument, or maybe another layer of music/sound. The idol worship is amazing—Bono literally coughed in the microphone and everyone went crazy. I’m not really into U2’s new songs, but the old hits are classics—and it was somehow cathartic to hear those songs from my childhood blast through me live.
